"In the finishing of the Cadet Activity Building, The Citadel has reason to be grateful to a great many generous persons who have contributed splendidly of money and equipment to furnishing this building in a beautiful and efficient way. The Board of Visitors has seen fit to bestow the name Mark Clark Hall on this new building. For that gracious act on your part, Mrs. Clark and I will be grateful throughout our lives. I consider it one of the finest honors that has ever come to me, and certainly it is a durable one."
