Liaison

This guide includes services, resources, and responsibilities for liaison librarians

"We believe that library liaisons are at the forefront with regard to the future of library services in this technological age."

Moniz, Richard, Joe Eshleman, & Henry Jo. Fundamentals for the Academic Liaison. Chicago : ALA Neal-Schuman. 2014.

New strategies might include:

  • Moving our focus from promoting library services and resources to USER NEEDS. What do our users need from the library, or from us?
  • Emphasize to faculty that we need their support of the library, by recommending, or requiring students to use library materials.
    • With faculty support we can guide students away from just GOOGLING IT!
    • Their papers will be more interesting, to both read and write!
