Welcome to PASCAL and Interlibrary Loan

Our Mission: If the Daniel Library does not have an item you need, we will make every effort to locate it for you for free through interlibrary loan or PASCAL Delivers.

PASCAL Delivers = PASCAL (Partnership Among South Carolina Academic Libraries) -  a service that allows us to borrow books from other academic libraries in South Carolina that are delivered Monday-Friday by a courier service.

Interlibrary loan (ILL) = a service that allows us to borrow articles, theses, and dissertations, as well as books that are not available through our library or PASCAL. ILL items can come from libraries throughout the United States. We have even received materials from Europe and Asia!

Books from ILL

Requesting

If a book you need is not available at the Daniel Library it may be available through interlibrary loan (ILL).

Click on the PASCAL Delivers/ILL button in the catalog record and follow the prompts.

From WorldCat, you can submit an ILL request by clicking "View access options", then "Request Item through Interlibrary Loan".

The system will then prompt you to log into your Tipasa account - if you are on campus. (instructions for off campus access forthcoming)

After you have logged in, the book's citation details will appear in the relevant fields of the request form.

Simply click "Submit," and your request will be processed by library staff.

You can also log into your Tipasa account directly and manually fill in a book request form.

We strongly advise against attempting to use interlibrary loan/PASCAL as an alternative to purchasing textbooks needed for coursework. The due dates will not accommodate keeping the book for the entire semester.

Picking Up

The book(s) you requested will be sent to the Daniel Library. Delivery times may vary, depending on the location of the lending library and the shipping method they select.

After being processed by library staff, a pick-up notice will be sent to your Citadel email.

Please come to the front desk to pick up your item(s).

Items will be held for 2 weeks from time of notification.
