Celebrating Women's History Month at the Daniel Library

by Unknown User on 2016-03-01T16:15:43-05:00 | 0 Comments

We're celebrating Women's History Month here at The Citadel, and in the Daniel Library! This year is especially important because it marks 20 years of women in the South Carolina Corps of Cadets. Here are just a few ways we're celebrating women this month.

First, we have a new display as you walk in the door. Our staff has grabbed a great selection of books for you to browse and check out. Their selections are all about the achievements of extraordinary women.

Second, photos taken from The Citadel Archives were used to create a slideshow called A Photographic History of Women at The Citadel. That slideshow can be found on The Citadel's Women's History Month website.

Lastly, we have a great event for you this month called Celebrating Women's History. On Tuesday, March 8th at 6:45 pm, please join us for an evening with Dr. Connie Ledoux Book, first female Provost at The Citadel, as she shares her experiences and thoughts relating to women's history. Free admission and parking!
