Lt. Peter Franklin Cureton

Memorials

Lt. Peter F. Cureton is buried at the Lorraine American Cemetery in St. Avold, France. Two other Citadel alumni are buried at the Lorraine American Cemetery. Joseph C. Davis, Class of 1932, was a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army. He died August 19, 1945 and was awarded the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster. Richard P. Padgett, Class of 1944, was a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He died April 30, 1945 and was awarded the Purple Heart.

The Citadel Memorial Europe Foundation, memorializes and provides biographical information on forty-seven Citadel service members who rest in fifteen American and two Commonwealth cemeteries and another nine who are memorialized on Tablets of the Missing.
