The Citadel Oral History Program

Founded in 2008, The Citadel Oral History Program seeks to deepen understanding of the Lowcountry’s rich history and culture through the gathering and presentation of recorded memories from area residents.The first interviews to be made available online are a part of the "Citadel WWII Alumni History Project." Other collections online include The Citadel's Collection of Historical Commencement Speeches, The Citadel's Photograph Collection, and The Citadel and the American Civil War.

NOTE: There are no issues from 1865-1882 because The Citadel ceased operation in 1865 and did not reopen until 1882.
The September 1987-September 1988 were the last issues published. After 1988, the publication is only available on Microfilm.
NOTE: The register was not published for 1945-46 because of the war. The 1945 and 1946 publications linked to this record only list the names and class standings of the graduates for these 2 years.
NOTE: In accordance with FERPA, access from 1930 to present only allowed for individuals accessing his or her record.

The Citadel Museum & Archives

There are over three hundred collections in The Citadel Archives which pertain to the history of The Citadel or have military significance. The time span of the collections is from 1842 to the present. Holdings include personal papers, letters, diaries, reports, minutes, speeches, and Citadel publications. Visual images include photographs, postcards, engravings, films and videotapes.

Collections include the military papers and photographs of the notable World War II General Mark W. Clark; the letters of the Confederate General Ellison Capers, an 1857 graduate of The Citadel; and nineteenth and twentieth century cadet diaries and speeches.
